Newsletter #60: Forta Secures Base Against Malicious Memecoins

July 4, 2024

This week in Forta! Forta secures Base against malicious memecoins. Forta powered site is now monitoring for Uniswap, Lido, Compound, and Blast spoof URLs. Three million FORT locked in the FORT Staking Vault. A DIRE warning in light of the recent Blast airdrop.

Forta secures Base against malicious memecoins. Last month, Forta expanded its monitoring services to a tenth blockchain by adding support for Base. Now, Forta is bolstering that support by protecting Base users from soft rugpulls. Soft rug pulls often manifest as popular memecoins that can draw in thousands of retail investors… and ultimately leave them high and dry. Subscribe to the bot here and protect yourself from scammers on Base!

Forta powered site is now monitoring for Uniswap, Lido, Compound, and Blast spoof URLs. A new Forta-powered site, protectedbyforta.com, is now monitoring for sites spoofing Uniswap, Lido, Compound, and Blast, some of the most impersonated web3 projects. Through the site, you can access interactive dashboards that display trends in malicious URL counts, as well as the latest identified threats. Additional popular web3 protocols will be added to protectedbyforta.com in the near future.

A DIRE warning in light of the recent Blast airdrop. Last week, the Blast community was expecting an airdrop, but scammers were on the move.. Forta observed over 16,000 Blast-related scam URLs in March 2024 and over 10,000 in April 2024 in the lead up to last week’s airdrop. To avoid scams, only use the official Blast website and socials, exercise extreme caution, double-check URLs before connecting your wallet, and check out Forta's full thread for more details.
